We had a fun morning with lots of great Basketball games at the recent festival!
There were 14 teams participating, from 11 primary schools all across Midlothian. The festival was held at Danderhall Leisure Centre, and we had two courts running at the same time. It was great to see so much enthusiasm and there were many baskets being scored!
Court 1 was set aside for the Competition League – with the top 2 teams qualifying for the Lothian Basketball Finals in May. They will be representing Midlothian at this event for the first time.
It was a very close competition, with only 2 baskets between the top two teams! The final results are:
Place School
1st Danderhall
2nd St Mary’s
3rd Loanhead
Congratulations to the winners, Danderhall Primary! They were presented with the Midlothian Schools Basketball Trophy by Kieran Lynch, Regional Development Officer for Basketball Scotland.
