Upbeat Dance and Active Schools put on a spectular Dance Showcase involving 9 primaries from across Midlothian.
Upbeat Dance and Active Schools put on a fabulous Summer Dance Showcase at Dalkeith Campus on Friday 17th June to mark the upcoming end of the academic year. The show featured dancers who have been attending Active Schools’ extracurricular clubs in 9 primary schools across the Lasswade, Dalkeith and Newbattle area this term.
Pupils from Tynewater, Woodburn, Kings Park, Lasswade, Bonnyrigg, Burnbrae, St Mary's, Loanhead and St Marys primary schools performed on the evening. Parents, grandparents and family watched pupils perform dances from street dance style to contemporary modern.
Upbeat Dance founder, Laura Reynolds, led the evening, organising the innovative choreography and fun costumes. The audience enjoyed high energy performances from all primary age groups including our youngest P1-P2 dancers. Even with some group members missing, they pupils managed to put on a spectacular evening of dance. The evening also included some extra guests from the upbeat senior dancers, showing the younger dancers some more advanced choreography.
Active Schools will be running more dance sessions in association with Upbeat after the summer break, so keep an eye in the school bags for booking form coming home!
