Training for Sports Club Volunteers

Volunteer Training

At each of the recent Community Sports Hub meetings the question of training for volunteers has been raised. Each of the delegates were interested in generic training for the people who volunteer with their club.

Offering training to volunteers provides a number of benefits to clubs. These volunteers feel less daunted about being asked to take on a role and are more willing to give their time up. The training allows them to raise any concerns they have and learn about others solutions. The training also makes volunteers feel valued and finally it provides a pathway to get new people into volunteering.

We are looking at five courses at present. These are Supporting Coaches, Volunteer Management in Clubs, Safeguarding and Protecting Children, In Safe Hands and First Aid. Each of the courses is approximately 3 hour long and the cost is usually covered by the sports hub.

If you would be interested in finding out more or attending a course, please complete the survey by clicking here (https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/V7P6MSQ) We will then send out more details once peoples preferences are known.

Could you please forward to any and all club members who might be interested in attending training.
