Newbattle High Lunchtime Football Tournament

Mid-term tournament for the Lunchtime Football players!

Newbattle High Lunchtime Football Tournament

Today we held the mid-term 7 a side Football tournament for the Lunchtime Football club at Newbattle High School.  We had about 40 players competing in this mini tournament which is part of the lunchtime Football programme sponsored by Borders Railway.  It was great to see lots of enthusiasm, energy and good sportsmanship on the pitch!

The Lunchtime Football is part of the Active Schools programme and is run with full support of the SFA, who provide the coaches.  Every lunchtime pupils can come along and join in  games supervised by SFA coaches.  It is a great way to keep the pupils active and safe during lunchtimes and is part of the Borders Railway rail safety, who provide the funding.

Thanks to all the pupils who participated in the tournament today, to the SFA coaches Kevin and Michael, to Keith and the SFA, to Carolyn from Active Schools, and Borders Railway.
