First Aid training for Clubs

Community Sports hubs are running a First Aid Course for club members.

First Aid training for Clubs

In December we ran a very successful First Aid Course for clubs. 12 people attended and their feedback indicated they really valued the course. So we are running a second course in February at the Lasswade Community High School.

First Aid is essential for every club. Every sport, environment and situation has the potential for injuries or accidents to occur. Clubs, their officers and volunteers have a duty to make sure participants are safe and the easiest way to do that is through ensuring people are appropriately trained.

This Emergency First Aid at Work course will be tailored for sports club. It comprises of a minimum of 6 hours of practical and theoretical training covering responsibilities; assessment of the situation; first aid hygiene; resuscitation; anatomy; choking; bleeding; shock; epilepsy; minor injuries and dealing with an unresponsive casualty.

It is being delivered over two nights, 2nd and 9th February 2017, from 6pm till 9pm. The training will be held at the high school to ensure it is accessible to everyone and is free for people in Community Sports Hub Clubs.

To book, please contact Ben by Monday 23rd January 2017 by email Ben.glencross@midlothian.gov.uk or telephone 0131 270 6769.
